Wolf Grounds ("we", "the bot") is a Discord bot and companion website that tracks PUBG stats, match highlights, and Twitch activity for the servers that install it. This page explains what data we collect, why, and how you can control it.
What we collect
- Discord data: your Discord user ID, username, avatar, and the servers (guilds) Wolf Grounds is installed in — including server ID, name, and icon. We use this to route commands, post stat updates to the right channel, and link your Discord account to a PUBG name if you choose to link it. In servers that have Wolf Grounds, the bot can also see the member list (names, nicknames and avatars) that Discord gives every bot. It uses it to match a roster's PUBG names to the right members, give roles in the Wolf Grounds server, and give rank roles and Seasonal Crown roles in servers that use them. It also removes the crown emojis an older version of the bot added to nicknames. We only store the Discord ID, display name and avatar of members linked to a PUBG name.
- Game activity: if your Discord status shows you playing PUBG, Wolf Grounds sees it and shows you in its "Who's Playing" card in the server and in the "Playing now" list on this website, along with the map, mode, party size and time in game from your status, and your stream link if you're live. We only keep what's true right now: it's replaced every couple of minutes and dropped after 10, and we keep no history of when you played.
- PUBG data: player names you or a server admin add to a roster, plus the public match, season, and weapon statistics tied to those names via PUBG Corporation's official API. We do not collect PUBG account credentials — only public stat data.
- Highlights: your public match stats, PUBG name and server name can be featured in the daily Top Plays and Play of the Week posts in the Wolf Grounds Discord server. If you vote on Top Plays, we store your Discord ID with your vote for 30 days.
- Twitch data: the public Twitch channel login you (or an admin) link to a PUBG name, used to detect when that channel is live and to correlate stream VODs with in-game kills for Wolf Reports and Wolf Clips.
- Ask AI conversations: when you use
/wolf ask, @mention the bot, or use the website's Ask AI page, your question and the bot's answer are temporarily stored (about 10 minutes) so follow-up questions have context, and are sent to Anthropic's Claude API to generate a response. We do not use these conversations to train any model. - Membership status: if you buy a Wolf Grounds membership, we store your Discord user ID, which tier is active, when it expires, and which of your servers it covers. Payment is handled entirely by Discord — we never see or store card information.
- THE DEN (our server dashboard): when a server's owner or admins use THE DEN, we store what they create there so it works: posts they write (text, cards, images links and buttons), scheduled posts and templates, and their choices of settings. Discord Events they create live in Discord itself. We also keep a record of each change made in THE DEN — who made it, what it was and when — which that server's admins and Wolf Grounds staff can see.
- Posting under a server's name: if a server allows it, Wolf Grounds creates a webhook in the channel so posts can show the server's (or the admin's) name and picture. We keep the webhook's access token on our servers only and never show it in a browser.
- Moderation: when an admin uses THE DEN's moderation tools, we record the action, the member's Discord ID and username, the reason given and who took the action. The same details go to Discord's own audit log, and to the server's mod-log channel if it has one. If the admin chooses to tell the member why, Wolf Grounds sends them a DM.
- Support requests: if you open a ticket in our support server, we store what you wrote in the ticket form, and the conversation happens in a private thread only you and our team can see. If you DM the Wolf Grounds bot, your message is forwarded to the Wolf Grounds developer so we can reply through the bot; we don't save those DMs anywhere else. If you ask for help from THE DEN, we store your message and our replies, and attach your server's name, plan and player count so we can help without asking. That conversation also appears in a thread in our support server.
- Exit survey: when a server removes Wolf Grounds, the bot may DM the server's owner to ask why. If they answer, we store the reasons they pick, any rating or note, their Discord ID and the server's name and icon, so we can improve Wolf Grounds and, if they left a note, reply to it. Answering is optional.
- Email (only if you give it to us): signing up for release notes stores your email address. We only start sending after you click the confirmation link, and every email has an unsubscribe link. The contact form sends us your name, email and message so we can reply.
- Standard web logs: like any website, our host records basic request logs (IP address, user agent, timestamp) for security and abuse prevention.
What we don't do
- We don't sell or rent your data to anyone.
- We don't run ads or third-party ad-tracking scripts on this site.
- We don't read your messages in servers. The bot only sees what you write when you @mention it (so Wolf AI can answer) or DM it (so we can reply). Everything else works through slash commands and buttons.
- We never post as a real person's account. Posts from THE DEN come from Wolf Grounds or a webhook, and Discord marks them as an app.
Wolf Grounds staff access
To help servers, Wolf Grounds staff (the owner and our support team) can open any server's dashboard in THE DEN and change its settings. Every change they make is recorded in that server's activity log, marked as staff, where its admins can see it. Staff can only use moderation tools in a server while its owner or an admin has switched on Support Access, which lasts at most 3 days and can be switched off at any time.
Who we share data with
We share the minimum data needed with these services to make Wolf Grounds work:
- Discord — to operate as a bot and OAuth login provider.
- PUBG Corporation — to look up public match and player statistics via their developer API.
- Twitch (Amazon) — to check public live/offline status and channel info for linked streamers.
- Anthropic — to generate answers for the Ask AI feature.
- Discord — to verify membership tier status and process membership payments.
- Hostinger — our web host, which sends release-note and contact-form emails.
How long we keep data
Match and stat snapshots, and Wolf Reports/Clips, are retained for a limited window (currently 14 days) and then automatically pruned. Roster entries and account links persist until an admin removes them (/discord remove) or the server uninstalls the bot. Ask AI conversation history is kept for about 10 minutes to support follow-up questions, then discarded. "Who's Playing" game activity is kept for at most 10 minutes, Top Plays votes for 30 days, and exit survey answers for one year. Support tickets are kept so we can follow up on them; ask us and we'll delete yours. THE DEN's posts, templates, activity log, moderation records and support requests are kept while the server uses Wolf Grounds; ask us and we'll delete a server's records. We make a backup of our database each night and keep backups for 14 days in a private location, so deleted data can take up to 14 days to leave our backups. If you unsubscribe from release notes, we keep your address marked as unsubscribed so you're never emailed again. Ask us if you'd rather it be deleted completely.
Your choices
- Remove a player from a server's roster at any time with
/discord remove [player_name]. - Unlink a Twitch or Discord account, or remove a player, from the server's Roster page in THE DEN.
- Delete a post made from THE DEN, or cancel a scheduled one, from its Messages page.
- Turn Support Access off at any time from the server's Moderation page in THE DEN.
- Keep Wolf Grounds from seeing that you're playing by turning off activity sharing: for one server, open the server menu → Privacy Settings → Activity Status; for every server, User Settings → Activity Privacy.
- Uninstall the bot from Server Settings → Integrations to stop all new data collection for that server.
- Stop release-note emails with the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any of them.
- Contact us at [email protected] to request a copy of your data or full deletion.
Children's privacy
Wolf Grounds is only available through Discord, which requires users to meet Discord's own minimum age requirement. We don't knowingly collect data from anyone below that age.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes materially, we'll update the date at the top of this page and announce it in our support server.
